COURSE DESCRIPTION

We live in a broken world inundated by conflict in both our personal interactions, at work and school, and in society. We can learn when to overlook and forgive, but we waste valuable energy trying to create a world without conflict. Instead, we can learn that when it is possible, as far as it depends on us- to live at peace with everyone, even when we disagree. Romans 12:18: "If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone."

NOTE: Mature themes such as world events, political unrest and challenging social issues are discussed in a mixed age audience.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

  • Identify, analyze, discuss and seek to understand what the bible says about peace & conflict
  • Identify and understand the foundational principles of a peacemaking culture
  • Discuss and analyze personal experiences, thoughts, feelings, emotions and attitudes in light of discovering our own peacemaking style (including judgmental attitudes)
  • Begin to grasp our role and apply personal responsibility towards creating a culture of peace
